Designations
and Qualifications |
The
National Association of Marine Surveyors, Inc.
Capt. Kerry "Ric" Corley is
a certified N.A.M.S. member designated with
the following service codes:
A. Yachts and Small Crafts (up to 100 gross
ton)
Surveys the condition, value, construction,
and damage of yachts and various other vessels
up to approximately 300 feet in length.
B. Uninspected Commercial Craft Surveyor:
Surveys the condition, value, construction,
and damage of tugs, barges, cranes and drilling
barges up to 300 gross tons.
C. Marina Facilities Surveyor:
Surveys the condition, value, construction,
and damage of wharfs, piers, docks, bridges,
locks and dams, and offshore marine structures.
D. Hull & Machinery Surveyor:
Surveys the condition, value, construction,
and damage of diesel, steam, and or electric
equipment with unlimited tonnage and any horsepower.
E. Cargo Surveyor:
Surveys the condition, value, construction,
and damage to cargo including general break/
bulk, dry bulk, liquid bulk, "L.P.G.",
"L.N.G.", and Rollon/ Rolloff (vehicle)
loads.
F. Container Loads Surveyor:
Surveys the condition, value, construction,
and damage to container loads on or off barges.
G. Salvage (Hull) Surveyor:
Surveys the condition, value, construction,
and damage to salvage hulls.
J. Fishing Vessel Surveyor:
Surveys the condition, value, construction,
and damage to fishing vessels.

Capt. Kerry "Ric" Corley is
an Accredited Marine Surveyor with the following
Specialization Designations:
Y.SC - Yachts, Small Craft:
This is the basic designation which is
held by the overwhelming majority of the AMS®
members. Members have acquired at least five
years of professional surveying experience in
yachts (vessels used for pleasure) and/or small
craft (commercial vessels less than 1600 GRT).
They have attained a passing grade in the SAMS®
Yachts and Small Craft examination.
H & M (Hull & Machinery):
An AMS® member who has actively
engaged in the survey of ocean-going vessels
in excess of 1600 gross tons for five of the
last ten years. A member who holds an Unlimited
(any tonnage, any oceans) U.S.C.G. License for
Third Mate, Third Engineer, or higher category
is considered to have met examination requirements.
C. - Cargo:
An AMS® member who has actively
engaged in performing surveys of the loading,
unloading, inspection and shipment of cargo
on merchant vessels for five of the last ten
years.
F.V. - Fishing Vessel:
An AMS® member who has actively
engaged in performing surveys of commercial
fishing vessels for five of the last ten years.
The member has attained a passing grade on the
SAMS® Fishing Vessel examination.
T. & B. - Tug and Barge:
An AMS® member who has actively
engaged in performing surveys of tugs, barges,
and trips and tows for five of the last ten
years. The member has attained a passing grade
on the SAMS® Tug and Barge examination.

Capt. Kerry "Ric" Corley is an
Certified Marine Investigator and member of
the International Association of Marine Investigators.
Capt. Corley is also a member in good standing
